Being the man working on what is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated albums ever, Frank Ocean is under quite a bit of pressure. Thankfully producer Malay gave fans some comforting news regarding Ocean’s new music.
Malay, who helped to craft Ocean’s 2012 RnB masterpiece Channel Orange, stated in an interview with Pitchfork that he has been working harder than he’s ever worked in his life and gave glimpses of what to expect on this currently untitled release. Speaking about the differences between recording his upcoming LP and his last, Malay said:
Frank’s exploring different vibes completely on this album. I wouldn’t say it’s vocally looser but just his mentality; it doesn’t seem as meticulous at certain times.
Unfortunately we’re no closer to finding out when we’ll get to hear Ocean’s new music.
I always tell people: When he’s ready, the world is gonna get it. It could be tomorrow… well not tomorrow but maybe a month [laughs].
Ocean hasn’t been totally missing in action having turned up on two Kanye West albums since confirming that he was working on his second LP in 2013.
